HORSES IN SCOTLAND, 1986

Shieldbank Stud Riding Centre, Saline, Fife, KY12 9LN, Scotland, United Kingdom

IPABRA President, Chris Semon's, account of her trip to Scotland in 1986:

SCOTLAND: I traveled to Scotland as a seventh grader in the summer of 1986. I got to spend a weekend taking riding lessons at a stable where I was in horse heaven riding along the beautiful Scottish countryside.

My father and a Cleveland Bay stallion. He was one BIG horse!

This is the owner of the stable we were at jumping one of his horses.

Here is a photo of a group of students and horses from the stable.

Here is me working the lunge line for the first time in my life. The horse being walked was a lovely Arabian named Bubbles. I think the instructor was entertained by my ineptness. ;)

Here are some of the stable horses cheerfully galloping in the pasture. The were all rounded up every morning by the stable dog, Pip.

Here is the father of one of the stable owners driving one of his horses.
