Lady Phase never produced any foals, she died at an early age. Lady Phase did
have a 3/4 sister named Lady Perfect who was sired by Perfect Marshall and out
of Lady Croton.
Przewalski Color
Przewalskii's Horse (Mongolian Wild Horse, Taki, etc) does not come in appaloosa.
They are shades of dun only. There are a few rare individuals who have had socks,
stars, blazes, blue eyes (one or both) and even an individual with skvet markings
like that of some rare Fjords.
The Mongolian Horse Color
The Mongolian Horse, the domestic variety, does come in a myriad of colors including
roan, App, pinto, etc. There are at least two documented Mongolian (Domestic)
Horses in the Przewalski past but the blood of these individuals has been either
bred out or at the very least reduced to the point of mere single digit percentages
in the bloodlines of today's Przewalskii's.

Tail Docking Rules Change
Germany no longer allows tail docking and the Belgian horse society of Europe
has also ruled against the practice of docking the tails of their draft horses.
And Now For Something Different…
~Henson horses are Fjords crossed with Selle Francais or Anglo-Arabs and have
been bred in France since 1975): http://www.henson.fr/englishv/indexgb.html
~Kinsky Horses are TB-type horses bred for jumping ability, stamina and temperament.
The preferred color is dilute but non-dilutes are common as well. They have
been bred in Czechoslovakia since the early 19th century, when Count Octavian
Kinsky started his own studbook because he was told that purebred TB's couldn't
be palomino. Several of Gestuet- Falkenhorst's "Czech Warmblood's"
are at least partially Kinsky-bred. http://www.kinsky.de/Rasseportrait/Fotos/Einzelne_Pferde/einzelne_pferde.html

Glitter Please Update
Those Glitter Please foals with "Certificate Cancelled" notations
are:
Dream in Gold (1998)
Lookspalominotome (1998)
Goldmaker (1999)
Gold Legacy (2000)
Over 20 Glitter Please foals still have Jockey Club papers. These 4 foals were
apparently bred via AI, not live cover and THAT is why their papers were pulled,
not because of their color. The Jockey Club would never take away any horse's
papers or deny them registration because of their color. They couldn't care
less if the horse is purple and green, as long as it passes the parentage verification,
now done by DNA, but for the past 20 years was done by blood typing. Of course,
they can't be bothered to list the colors correctly but that's another topic
for another day. :)
To Greener Pastures
Appaloosa Hall of Fame stallion Dreamfinder was euthanized
May 1, 2002 at the age of 18. A leading sire and a producer of leading sires,
Dreamfinder passed on his eye-catching color and correct conformation. Look
for more about the stallion's life and accomplishments in Appaloosa Journal's
August issue.
25 years to the day that he won the Kentucky Derby, then on to win the Triple
Crown, 28 year old Seattle Slew died May 7, 2002, in his sleep
at Hill n' Dale Farm. This is the first time since Sir Barton won the Triple
Crown that we have not had a living Triple Crown Winner.
1989 black Hanoverian stallion Dream Of Glory has died. His
sire Donnerhall, died on Jan. 14, 2002, of acute intestinal poisoning. His dam
was Revue Girl II by Pik Bube I. He was the 1999 PSI Stallion of the Year. For
more information, go to: www.ohmen.de/references/dream_of_glory_e.htm

Registering a QH as a Paint
The Paint registry will register ANY foal from 2 QH parents that does not make
it under the QH color rule. It will go in as either a regular registration or
as breeding stock depending on how it meets the Paint color rules.
Registered as breeding stock are all double dilutes (cremello, perlino, smoky
creme) and sabino whites. There is a tiny bit of overlap, which allows a few
select horses to be double registered as both QH and Paint.
Wielkopolski vs Malapolski
What is the difference between Wielkopolski (WLKP) and Malapolski (MLP)? Well,
Wielkopolski means "big Poland" and Malapolski means "small Poland"
so the theory that the WLKP/MLP designations are predominately geographically-determined
rather than strictly by bloodline, like most of the German WB's, is not way
out there.
Type wise, WLKPs appear to be much larger sport-bred and MLPs are smaller and
used for racing.

Brand Marks
This site has a bunch of commonly used brands in Germany and other parts of
Europe. Mostly Warmbloods but also Lipizzaners, PRE's, Shagyas, and more:
http://horseman-hartmut.de/brandzeichen/die-brandzeichen.htm
Or
http://www.horsedata.co.uk/horse_brands.htm
You can get a lot more specific information at the individual registry/verband
sites. Some Warmbloods have different brands for different bloodlines, some
a different brand for NA-bred horses, etc.
For PRE or PSL Andalusians, pretty much every breeder outside of NA, and a
few in NA, have their own stud brand (like the one on Breyer's Legionario).
