Good News - September/October 2001
"I have good news. My mom came through her knee replacement surgery just
fine, has been home for several weeks to a month now & is walking with a
cane instead of a walker. Sometimes she even walks without the cane."
-Diane Peter
"I had both my older Am. Cream Draft mares sent to a stallion and they
have just returned from the breeder. I am so looking forward to two more little
(well, not so little, lol) foals! This is the same stallion that sired our yearling
filly, Heike and she is a real looker with a personality of gold! We have also
been asked by the Champagne Horse Assn. to consider our mare Fanny for registration.
She would be the first draft horse registered. I am working on getting the paperwork
and photos done so we can apply."
-Christine Ertl
"Also, I have a "good news"- at least, it's good news IMO :-D
I'm getting the wonderful pleasure of adding a gorgeous glossy palomino H-R
large "Zara" to my herd. She hasn't gotten a name or pedigree so far,
since I don't even have her in hand yet, but all suggestions are welcome!"
-Laurel Dedes
"I finally got around to painting my Amarna Arabian Stallion resin. It
only took me about five years! Now he's a dark bay with two socks and a stripe--
he turned out pretty darn good, if I do say so myself. He already has an ID,
which some of you may recognise from the Express Racing club: Minsk, a Russian
Arabian who was a Multi-Stakes-Winner on the track, and from his first crop
(1999) has already sired two Stakes winners, one Stakes-placed-winner, and one
winner. The other good news is that I actually managed to take some show photos,
so now he'll be able to compete in IPABRA too! I can't wait to get him out into
the ring!"
-Amber Berdie
"I just finished up my second summer of graduate work at VanderCook College
of Music and got straight As for the second year in a row! I only have one more
summer to go and I will officially have a Master's Degree in Music Education.
Wish me luck!"
