Stable Spotlight - British Drafters
By Liana Cibery

Welcome to this month's Stable Spotlight, where each issue, a different breed is showcased!

Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Liana Cibery, and I live in Connecticut. Since 1982, I have been a collector of Model horses! In the real horse world, I have done everything from breeding Arabains and Appaloosas, to riding jumpers, eventers, saddleseat, western pleasure, barrel racing, and showing halter horses. But through it all, the model horses have been a constant!

Now on to the British Drafters!

First, let me introduce Ber Ali's Bruce (Ridgedale Prince -r x Doura Lady Veronica -r). "Bruce" was foaled in 1993. He is a Bay Clydesdale Stallion with loads of white trim, and has been at Ber Ali Farm since 1999. "Bruce" is an accomplished photo show horse and in 1 ½ years of showing has earned the following - 1 Grand of Show; 8 Champions; 1 Reserve; 14 1st Place; 11 2nd Place and 9 3rd Place. He is currently qualified to show at the MEPSA Nationals! Last year "Bruce" earned High Point Draft Breed through the NEMHC! I believe "Bruce" would be an asset to any breeding program - Pure or Partbred. If you are interested in using him, he is available free. Please write to: Roxanne McHatten : 18 Centennial Avenue : Meriden, CT : 06451 or visit our web page at - http://www.geocities.com/beralifarm. Online breeding request forms are now available.

From my own stable, I would like to present Rosedale Fond Memories (Haddon Hall D'Artagnan x River Rose) 1996 Bay Clydesdale stallion. Beautiful. The only words to describe this stallion. Wonderful dapple bay color. Excellent conformation. Lines to Erin's Bold Irish, Winterwood, Burgundy, and OMA's Irish Rose. This stallion is an excellent photo show and live show horse. Breedings are free by e-mail, 25 cents per certificate by snail mail. Please send all information to the address listed below. FFC: 1999 Liana Cibery, Wind Brook Farm

Next in the Spotlight is Woodvue Excelsior, owned by Wendy Blum. He is a 1986 bay Shire stallion. Sired by Woodcraft Rook Hill's Lad (r) out of Llanpem Queen (r) by Bulbridge Traveler, he traces to Quixhill What's Wanted, Carr Coming King, Ladbrook What's Wanted, Grangewood William, Wishful Wonder etc. Excelsior is a PS Champion and LS Placed (3rd in a huge Draft class) in his only LS appearance. He's a Chaney Shire CM by Chris Nandell. He's proved to be an extremely popular sire and is the sire of several winners in both PS and LS's. Proudly owned by Wendy Blum (Riverview Farms), 117 Rose Marie Dr., Chehalis, WA 98532, blum@thesuperhwy.com

Another horse you don't want to miss is Stormy Affair (Warsong (Black Tower x *Love Again) x Knot 2 Knight (TW Renaissance x *Audenarde)) 1980 chestnut Suffolk Punch stallion. Winston resin CM by Wendy Galbreath. Lovely blend of model and real lines! Stormy has won several photo show championships and many firsts in live shows. He is the sire of multi-champs CZ Hawk and Felixstowe. Open 1983+ for free. For more information, write Chris Wallbruch at 120 Fountainview Lane #3A, Lombard, IL 60148 or at wombats@earthlink.net
