Western Horseman Legends Series
Arabian Legends by Western Horseman is now available! It features such horses as Abu Farwa, *Bask, Khemosabi, *Muscat, *Padron, *Raffles and *Witez II to just name a few. It's a wonderful addition to the Legends series! Legends IV (Quarter Horse) is also available and features Zan Parr Barr, Impressive and Diamond's Sparkle just to name a few!

Appaloosa News:
The ApHC allows you to use TB stallions or mares to produce an Appaloosa but here's something that most people don't know - that TB can be a sabino and the APHC does not care! You can register that foal as an Appaloosa just so long as it does not show any pinto coloring.

Andalusian/Lusitano Colors
More on Andalusian and Lusitano colors allowed. Hopefully this will clear things up as it is straight from the 1999 rulebook for the American association.

Section 10. The following colors are acceptable for all Purebred Andalusians, which are registered with IALHA whether such horses are of Spanish, Portugese or Spanish/Portugese descent. A Grey, B Bay, C Black, D Brown, E Chestnut, F Dun (the description listed could also refer to buckskin), G Grulla, H Palomino, I Isabella - a cream color with the same color or lighter mane and tail, no dorsal stripe or dark points. (Note here: ''Mulberry'' is just a PHASE of the greying process.)

Horses eligible for inclusion in the Spanish studbook must be Grey, Bay or Black. Horses eligible for inclusion in the Portugese studbook may be of any color.

Note: The association seems to include both Spanish (Andalusian) and Portugese (Lusitano) under the term "Andalusian". The distinction seems to be only the country of origin.

Color limitations are placed on horses in the Spanish or Portugese studbooks, but not on geldings or mares.

It seems 80% of Andalusians are grey, 15% are bay, less than 5% are black, buckskin or palomino. An official at the association stated that chestnut is rare but allowed and chestnut, dun, grulla and isabella must also fit into that 5%.
