Stable Spotlight - Appaloosas

Welcome to Stable Spotlights, where we feature one special horse from a variety
of IPABRA stables around the country. This month's breed is Appaloosas, and
it looks like IPABRA members have some really good ones.
Our first horse is Kiwi, a 1976 bay blanket Appaloosa stallion sired
by High Treason and out of Babydoll. Kiwi is a top live and photo shower. He
has been an IPABRA Top Ten OF Appaloosa for the past three years and is a multi-champion
in photo shows. His pedigree traces to greats such as *Alconbury Hill, Comeflywithme,
and Little Navajo Joe. Kiwi is the sire of several champions including Cranberry
Frostfire, LJ Zoot Suit Riot, Peach Sparkler, Shesa Dream, and the IPABRA 1998
#1 CM Appaloosa NTS Raspberry Flame! He is available for free for foals born
in 1979+.

Wildwing Model Horse Stables' premier Appaloosa show mare is Joe's Genieve,
an OF SR Breezing Dixie. So far her show record includes Reserve Champion Overall
Other Performance live and Champion Overall Gender photo, and she consistently
places at both live and photo shows. She only has one foal so far and is open
1984-1996, 1998.

Our next spotlight is on Starlight (*Hallam's Mr. Moody x The Starmaker),
a 1988 dark bay blanket Appaloosa mare bred at Double Hart Ranch. She is a champion
shower and traces to Double Sir II. Her paternal grandsire is an Australian
Stock Horse. Starlight is open 1992, 1993, and 1995+ for 15c.
-Diane Peter, 730 Bond, Collinsville, IL 62234
Tristan (Dreamfinder -r x Skip To Invest) is a 1987 wildly patterned
chestnut blanket stallion. He is a Breyer "Rocky" CM by Carol Howard
and Amber Berdie. His sire was the first yearling to be named Grand Champion
Stallion at the Appaloosa Nationals, went on to sire National and World Champions
every breeding season and is the all-time leading sire of halter point earners
and class winners. Tristan's dam (owned by Cindi Nakagawa) is the producer of
numerous halter and performance champions and is the daughter of Skip Go Grand
-r, a National Champion and Bronze Medallion. Tristan has only been lightly
shown, but his pedigree promises stock horse versatility! He stands for 20c.
-Amber Berdie, 3717 Garfield Avenue S, Minneapolis, MN 55409
Bonnie Blue Diamond (Royal Diamond x Crystal Brook September Raindrops)
is a 1992 blue roan leopard Appaloosa mare. She is a Breyer Stock Horse Mare
CM by Kathleen Maestas, owned by Night Breeze Stables and Sheena Etzweiler and
bred by Double Diamond Stable and Crystal Brook Farms. Bonnie does well in English
and Western, although she draws more attention when she wears her flashy Western
tack! Bonnie has won live show championships, and because of this, she got herself
into the local newspaper! She has also won photo show championships and placed
well at racemeets. Her fee is 10c.
-Sheena Etzweiler, 3020 Powells Valley Road, Halifax, PA 17032
Laura Prettyman's Golden Nicholas Farm features Bandit's Commitment
(Bandit's Sonny Fox x Ima Dixie Dandy). She is a 1992 brown no spot blanket
mare. She traces to Mighty Bright and has placed in race events. Her fee is
free if "Bandit" or "Commitment" is featured in the foal's
name.
-Laura Prettyman, 1770 CO Rd 123 SW, Brainerd, MN 56401
Chipnotized is a 1988 black semi-leopard mare and is a Breyer Lady
Phase CM by Laurie Jo Jensen. She is a photo show multi Grand Champion and live
show multi-champion in both halter and performance. She won a Top Ten in arena
trail at the 1998 NAN. Her sire, Zip's Chocolate Chip -r, was an AQHA World
Champion Jr. Western Pleasure Horse, is a World Champion Sire, and ranks among
the leading sires of Longe Line, Western and English horses. Her dam, ZI Steelblue
Fly, is one of the legends of IPABRA, holds both ROMs and LOMs and was the first
IPABRA Silver Medallion Dam! Chipnotized is the dam of the halter champion filly
Wapiti's Chocolate Chip and the multi-champion gelding Truckin Kinda Chip. She
is available for foals after 1991 and photo approval is required.

Heather Mays' favorite Appaloosa is Absolute Proof (Hard Core Crazy
x Skip the Sequel), a 1991 grey grulla snowflake mare She is the Nandell/Williams
Power Steering resin painted by Cindy Dalton and Laurie Jo Jensen. She was bred
by Indigo Creek Stables and carries lines to Simcoe's Firedancer, Simcoe's Koosah,
Storm Cloud F, Red Eagle, Go Man Go, Poco Bueno, and Impressive. She is the
dam of the multi-champion gelding WBP Hustler Blues, and has proven herself
tough to beat in cutting, roping, and speed games.

Our next horse is Kountry Zip (Rock the Casbah x Jet Wind -TB by Pewter
Bowl), a 1985 brown blanket stallion. He is a live show winner in both halter
and performance. Kountry Zip is the sire of Kalifornian Zip who is LS placed
in halter, trail, working western, western pleasure, and stock breed huntseat.
-Johanna Dolch, 435 Wilshire Drive, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48302
Thunder Valley Farm features Miss Nadilia Thunder (Logan's Run x Miss
Royal Gambit), who is a 1990 dark bay Appaloosa mare and a Breyer OF Breezin
Dixie (with BOTH the tri-eyes and hand painted hooves!) She is a multi-live
and photo show champion and has been winning championships in the show ring
since 1987 in both halter and performance! She is model bred from Va Lu Rokka
Stables tracing to Rocking Chair Revel and Royal Diamond. She is the dam of
3 foals including live show Reserve Champion Aristocrat (1995 Jamboree). She
is available for 30c and a LSASE, and photo approval of all foals is required.
